Cornerstone Christian School

The Cornerstone Difference

If education is spiritual in nature, as we believe, then it must have a moral fiber that is woven into all things educational. At Cornerstone Christian School, we believe in a Christian worldview and teach from that worldview.

Building a Spiritual House

"To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God - Jesus Christ.  Wherefore also it is contained in the scriptures.  Behold, I lay in Zion a chief corner stone, elect, precious:  and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.  Unto you therefore which believe he is precious; but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, and a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense, even them which stumble at the word, being disobedient where unto also they were appointed.  But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called out of darkness into his marvelous light."

Key verse: I Peter 2:1-9 (4-9)

We believe in excellence and demand that from our faculty and staff, as well as our students.   One of our goals is to challenge them to come up higher in every area of their lives.  Adding value to everything they do.

Strong Academics
Cornerstone Christian School students consistently score between the 70th and 95th percentile in annual Terra Nova Achievement Tests. Our school also recognizes the importance of a low student-to-teacher ratio in academic achievement, so class sizes range from 12 to 20 students.

Cornerstone is a nondenominational school with a diverse student body, younger grades focus on critical Scriptures central to the statement of faith with common interpretations among evangelical churches. High school Bible classes explore denominational differences, applying critical thinking and discussion in order to gain further insight and establish a solid understanding.

Why Choose Cornerstone?

We recognize that choosing a school for your child is an extremely

important decision.  A mistake could take years to discover and even longer to

remedy.   At Cornerstone, we try to anticipate the questions and needs you will have and we make every effort to address them so that you will be able to send your child to our school with confidence that you have made the right choice.

Below are some frequently asked and answered questions....

Is the campus a safe place?

Our campus provides limited access during school hours and is well-lit in the evening. Cornerstone is a fully enclosed with an iron fence completely

surrounding the 26 acre campus.

What is your academic tradition?
Cornerstone has been recognized for more than six years as an institution
whose graduate's are prepared to enter and be successful in any continuing education program of their choosing.  CCS is a School of Scientific Excellence.  Our students participate in age appropriate science classes and a hands on Science Lab course in addition to their regular academic schedule.

What, if anything, does your curriculum provide that would set it apart from other schools?
We concentrate on teaching our students how to think critically and to problem solve, while making good decisions based on analysis of evidence and facts.

How about extracurricular activities?
A variety of clubs and organizations exist to give students exposure and experience in community service, student government, safety patrol, art, foreign languages,
music and more.

Schools are not limited to an academic atmosphere.

How do you address other needs of the students?
To meet our commitment to develop well-rounded children, we also offer a structured character education program that encourages the students to "do the right thing, be a person of character." Cornerstone also provides opportunities for middle and high school students to participate in interscholastic athletic programs. CCS uses the Bob Jones and ABEKA curriculums.

Intangibles?
Cornerstone provides a first-class education in a family atmosphere. Students,

teachers, parents, and visitors feel welcome and valued as they interact with eachother both on and off campus.
